The 14th Century Tower of St Mary's carries a fine peal of six bells, the earliest being cast in 1623. Church bells are
heavy and usually carry an inscription. The bell in front of the altar (which came from St Agnes, once in Dobbins Lane) weighs 41 lbs
and is marked 'J Warner & Sons London 1863'.
The bells at St Mary's, and their inscriptions, are as follows:
Treble - 587 lbs
To the Glory of God and a Testimony to Albert Smith, Vicar. AD 1867 - 1914
